She was a George H. Cook Scholar at Rutgers, where she contributed to a study on ostarine and equine body composition that she presented at the Equine Science Society Symposium and placed. Angely also competed with the Animal Welfare judging team and placed at many AVMA Animal Welfare Assessment Contests throughout her time at Rutgers.

While at Rowan she founded the first student chapter of the American College of Animal Welfare and serves as its president. This past summer she participated in the Veterinary Summer Scholar Research Program and presented her research on point-of-care ultrasound in feline trauma patients at the VSSP symposium at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. She currently serves as a campus representative for Veterinary Emergency Group and she is the recipient of the Wedgewood Pharmacy endowed scholarship for 2026.

Her interests lie at the intersection of welfare, diagnostic imaging, emergency medicine, and research. A Kichwa-Ecuadorian woman raised in East Harlem, she now lives in Glassboro, NJ, with her two dogs, Cashew and Gracie, and her two pigeons, Paty and Tonya.
