"Dr. Sandra Faeh brings deep regulatory insight and a strong commitment to advancing veterinary education to the Wedgewood Veterinary Advisory Committee. As the first Chief Medical Officer of NVA General Practice and the Immediate Past President of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Dr. Faeh has been a trusted voice at the highest levels of veterinary governance and clinical leadership. With more than 25 years of experience as a small animal practitioner in the Chicagoland area, Dr. Faeh is widely recognized for her passion for mentorship, advocacy, and strengthening the infrastructure that supports veterinary professionals at all stages of their careers. Her leadership across local, state, and national associations—including serving as President of both the Illinois State VMA and the Chicago VMA—has uniquely positioned her to influence policy and champion the evolving needs of the profession. At the AVMA, Dr. Faeh helped navigate the regulatory complexities facing veterinary practices, especially around workforce sustainability, drug access, and professional well-being. She continues this focus at NVA, where she co-developed an award-winning mentorship program that blends hands-on surgical and dental training with virtual case rounds and medical lectures—supporting over 500 early-career veterinarians in building clinical confidence and balance. Dr. Faeh earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In both clinical and leadership roles, she is driven by a deep belief in equipping veterinarians with the tools, policies, and support they need to thrive in a changing landscape."
