Dr. Noel Lucas is a respected small animal veterinarian, entrepreneur, and industry thought leader with over two decades of clinical experience in the Nashville area. Originally from Indiana, Dr. Lucas earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Indiana University Bloomington in 1996 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Purdue University in 2000. Drawn to the vibrant energy of Nashville, she moved there shortly after graduation and has been a devoted part of the veterinary community ever since.
In 2013, after more than 13 years in practice, Dr. Lucas founded Blue Oasis Pet Hospital in Mount Juliet, TN, driven by a vision to reimagine the veterinary client experience. She introduced the innovative concept of "Transparency in Care," eliminating the traditional “backroom” and creating a model where clients are engaged, informed, and part of every step in their pet’s treatment. Under her leadership, Blue Oasis earned AAHA accreditation in 2014 and became a Fear Free Certified Practice in 2018, reflecting her commitment to clinical excellence and emotional well-being for pets and their caregivers.
Beyond her practice, Dr. Lucas is a dynamic voice in veterinary leadership. She has served as an IDEXX Field Advocate and Regional Thought Leader, and is currently a member of the Wedgewood Pharmacy Veterinary Advisory Board. She is passionate about nurturing positive team culture and advancing veterinary mental health—an issue she helped spotlight in the PBS documentary The Cost of Caring.
