The new implant retains the same Melengestrol Acetate formula and surface area as its predecessor. What's changed is the shape, the mold, and the beyond-use date.

This MGA Implant formula compounded by Wedgewood is the same formula and made with the same ingredients as those used in the previously compounded shapes and strengths.
Our dedicated team of MGA Implant-experienced pharmacists are ready to assist you through the new ordering process, whether you choose to place your order by phone or online.
We are committed to the highest quality standards for compounded medications.
The new implants differ from the old implants in size and shape, and they carry a longer beyond-use date of 90 days. Rest assured, the formula, surface area, and quality has not changed. Each implant is stringently tested for potency, sterility, stability, and endotoxins, and terminally sterilized through gamma irradiation at approximately 25 kGy.
You no longer need to follow a specific ordering schedule. These implants are available to order on an as-needed basis, through the same avenue you've purchased previously. Beginning in August, you can log in and place an order when you're ready through your Wedgewood.com account, or call our customer care team at 866-823-9314.
The new 1gm and 3gm implants are scored in 1/10th increments, allowing a wider range of doses to be achieved with greater precision than the previous version, giving more flexibility per implant.
The implant should be stored at a controlled room temperature (68° to 77°F) and left inside its sterile pouch until you are ready to place the implant.
The current implant-by date (or BUD) will be 90 days from the date it is compounded. After compounding, the implants go through the process for sterilizing and testing. When you place your order, we can provide the estimated ship date of the implant along with the expected BUD.
