Pimobendan Injection Solution was nominated to the FDA’s list of office stock drugs and is currently under review, per GFI #256. This means that this medication can be sold to practices for office stock in all states except Hawaii, Montana, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Washington D.C. Veterinarians who work in a state that does not allow USP compounded medications for office stock can prescribe this compounded medication in a patient’s name.
What is the Beyond-Use Date?
The beyond-use date is 60 days from the date of compounding. We are pursuing stability studies to extend the BUD.
What does the HD label mean? Is this medication hazardous?
The HD label reflects Wedgewood's production facility designation, not the medication's hazard classification. Pimobendan is not classified as hazardous and is not a controlled substance. All handling guidance is included with the shipment of an order.
